Day 30

The mind is an extremely powerful tool when it is harnessed correctly. Without supervision however it behaves like a wild beast. When the body is at rest one may begin to observe the mind with ease. And it is during this time that one may identify many similarities between the body and mind.

Left to its own devices the mind can waste a lot of energy. It is as though there is a constant adrenalin rush, and a need for external stimuli. The mind really doesn’t know how to do anything other than make trouble for itself. The only way to train the mind is to take a step back; to observe the mind and body together, as separate from the true self.

Imagine the most beautiful landscape at dawn. Now observe your body and mind imagining this scene. One must learn to appreciate all that life has to offer without ownership, without the need to take anything for oneself. Observe the beauty in all things that lies beyond thought.
