Day 31
When one begins to appreciate the significance of the finite nature of the body and mind, one is apt to confuse the true self with an eternal void. It is difficult to imagine existence beyond physicality and thought.
But if one associates one’s earthly existence with all of life, if one can imagine a unity and wholeness of limitless love and wisdom, then a peaceful countenance returns.
Although the higher self exists beyond this limited notion of life, there is a certain reassurance that one’s persona is important, vital even, in the larger scheme of things.
Do not confuse your earthly life with that of pure spirit. But, likewise, do not dismiss your mortality as insignificant. The two forms of existence depend upon each other, and are ultimately so intertwined that they are destined to become one.
